The Rugged Space Saver

The new RadMini Step-Thru 2 encompasses so much of our design philosophy: to make bikes that combine power with ease, convenience, and accessibility. With a streamlined throttle design and handlebars that have been upgraded for a more comfortable, ergonomic ride, we’ve taken that mindset to a whole new level.

The RadMini Step-Thru features our lowest standover height of any model. Add to that the adjustable handlebar stem and the most robust folding mechanism ever built, and you've got a remarkably accessible fat tire ebike.

The Rad Battery Pack

With over a decade of designing and building ebikes under our belts, we know that a high-capacity battery like this isn’t something you cheap out on. We designed and built our batteries using genuine Samsung 35E cells, which are some of the most energy-dense and reliable lithium-ion cells on the market today. These cells have allowed us to build an overall better battery, and at only 7.7 lbs, it's one of the lightest and most energy-dense packs on any electric bike.

Dave’s Rad Mini ST 2020 Review

Very solid feeling ride. First 100 miles have gotten very comfortable with using assist levels, good disk brakes, limited throttle at start up, seat & handlebar adjustment, etc. Exceptionally comfortable and secure ride. No mechanical issues. Added under seat bag, throttle thumb control and rear Rad rack.

AWESOME

I LOVE my rad mini. It is more than I could have hoped for. They didn’t offer the step thru when I got mine and it is hard to throw my leg over, but I make I work. The seat is terribly uncomfortable but other than that it is near perfect!!!!!

Great ride

Rides great, a little heavy and hard to fold.

The bike is wonderful. The only problem is your feet can slip off the pedal to easy. My foot slipped off the pedal and I crashed on my second ride. Three broke toes and 2 broken ribs. I will replace the pedals on the bike but other than that I live it.

RadMini Step-Thru

The bike was delivered on time and without any damage. After watching the video on line it was easy to put together. I live in Minnesota so the bike is parked in my living room until it is warm enough outside to ride it. Think Spring!

Great all around e-bike for casual riders!

Historically, I've been a very casual bike rider and wanted an electric bike so I could go longer distances in shorter times and ditch my car. I'm having so much fun on my RadMini. I've been using it to ride to the movie theater, grocery store, and work. I love not dealing with traffic and taking trails to see more trees and the creek along the way. The throttle is great for getting a quick assist on take off and the peddle assist is perfect for balancing exercise with the speed of the motor.

I did a bunch of research before I chose the RadMini. The RadMini was the right balance between features, price, and maintainability. I felt like Rad Power Bikes will be around for a while and that I'd be able to get replacement parts when I need them. I like that they've standardized on a battery and that I can order anything I need through their web site. You can get a cheaper e-bike, yes, but it won't come with the level of support or replacement parts you get with Rad. I also looked at more expensive bikes, but I didn't see any compelling reason to buy one over the Rad.

The one issue I've had with the RadMini was finding a Panieer bag to fit my bike. I bought the rear rack from Rad, but did not like their bag option. So after ordering a bag from Amazon, I came to discover that Rad's rear rack pipe diameter is much larger (~20mm) than common rear racks. So most bags you can order will not fit. I wound up getting an Ortlier bag, which was quite expensive, as well as their attachment kit for e-bikes. I think you can buy a more standard rack to fit on Rad's bikes, but I didn't try that since I'd already installed Rad's rack. Otherwise, I've been very happy with my purchase.

Finally, I chose the RadMini Step-Thru over other Rad models because 1) I really like the look of it, and 2) I like the foldability so that I could transport it more easily when needed.

The RadMini has really brought a great change into my life and highly recommend it if you're ...

RadMini V4 and RadMini Step-Thru V2

We've had a great time with these bikes. I'm very happy with our purchase. They're built well and have several useful options available. I was a little disappointing with the change to the thinner rim and tires with the 2020 model compared to last years model. We ride them in the desert and come across loose sand quite a bit and I think the wider tires would have been better for us. I did replace the tires on mine with a set of Krusades and it did help. Still, they're fantastic E-bikes and they've enabled us to get out and explore our surroundings in a way we couldn't have before. Thanks Rad Power Bikes!
