What to Measure
Your “real inseam” -- or inside leg length -- is the distance between your body where it sits on your bike saddle and the ground.
This will typically be an inch or two longer than the length of your trousers, but you’ll want to measure to be sure.
You’ll use this number on the chart to get a feel for how the different models will fit you.
How to Measure
Gather the tools needed:
- Medium-width hardcover book
- Tape measure
- A wall you can stand against
- A trusted friend or relative
Wearing your regular riding shoes and with your back to the wall, stand with your feet spread so there is about 7 inches between them - this is about the distance apart your feet would be when straddling a bike with your feet on the ground (standover height).
Place a hardcover book against the wall with the spine of the book facing upward. Slide the book upwards towards your groin until it is solidly against your body. This may be a bit awkward, but is way more comfortable -- and safer! -- than trying to ride a bike that is too big.
If you have a buddy helping you, get them to measure from the floor to the top of the book spine while you hold the book in place. If you’re going it alone, carefully hold the book in place and measure from the ground to the top of the book spine.
Proprietary Passenger Package
Other ebikes with bench-style seats have one thing in common: they offer zero means for the rider to adjust the height of their seat. This means nearly everyone is always pedaling in a poor riding position.
We are changing that in a big way. The RadRunner is the very first ebike or scooter to have an adjustable driver's seat that can either be completely flush with the passenger's seat or adjusted higher like a standard bike.
Keep the seat low so your passenger can snuggle up close or raise the seat up to get proper leg extension while pedaling. You do you.
The Rad Battery Pack
With over a decade of designing and building ebikes under our belts, we know that a high-capacity battery like this isn’t something you cheap out on. We designed and built our batteries using genuine Samsung 35E cells, which are some of the most energy-dense and reliable lithium-ion cells on the market today. These cells have allowed us to build an overall better battery, and at only 7.7 lbs, it's one of the lightest and most energy-dense packs on any electric bike.

Compact, Discreet, Maintenance-Free Hub Motor
With 750W and 80 Nm of torque at your disposal, this Bafang geared hub motor is what is going to help power you up steep inclines and get you up to top speed quickly from a dead stop, all while remaining quiet and inconspicuous. These kinds of numbers aren't even found on some of the most expensive mid drive systems out there, so prepare to outperform and outclass everyone you see on the road.

RadRunner Electric Utility Bike
Packed great, what a well built bike, easy to put together. Only problem is the head light doesn't work, check all connections, use volt meter and then call service dept. I'm 72 and ready to ride all over. There is 1000 miles of trails in Montrose, Colo. To enjoy. Will add more at I put miles on. Got to buy the extra seat, it should come standard with bike. Getter it done, miles to go.
Love my new Rad Runner. Made well, looks nice and plenty of power. The only thing that needs an improvement is the thin hard seat and no shock absorber on the seat post or forks. They come on the newer version of the Runner :-) But still a great ride. Highly recommend.
It goes without saying that cars aren’t great. They rely on fossil fuels and car culture doesn’t really like the idea of other modes of transportation. Public transit is amazing except for the current need for social distancing.
Enter the RadRunner.
Enough battery power for a ride around town, commuting to work is an absolute breeze.
I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because compared to past e-bikes I’ve owned this one feels a little underpowered, but it still does the job very well. Highly recommended especially for the price.
I love my RadRunner it is more than I expected from this bike. I bought it because I do a lot of remote fishing and I was hoping it would take the burden off my legs and it has! The battery last a long time on a charge and it has plenty of power. My only regret is that I did not buy a bike with a softer suspension, all and all it is a great bike.
Bikes are great seats too hard
The Rad Runner is incredibly well thought out. Its easy to operate, can be modified in so many ways, and is just so much fun to ride around on. The bike fits well (I'm 5'8") and handles my commute with no problems. I have gone for 2 hour rides using pedal assist and lots of throttling, and the battery still has half a charge left (different user weight and terrain will certainly impact this, but I'm still impressed). The throttle feature is great, but steep hills will tax it quite a bit - don't expect to fly up hills at high speed. Luckily with L4 pedal assist it is almost effortless for me to pedal uphill at a good pace.
I also bought a Thule baby seat - its so easy to put on and take off. And my 2 year old absolutely loves going on rides with me.
This bike is safe, fun, and easy to use. Perfect for commuting, or someone who wants to cruise around the city. The only thing I wish this bike had is front suspension (West Seattle has some pretty rough roads), but I see the Rad Runner Plus will be equipped with that - for anyone who values comfort, I would consider spending a bit more to buy that model.
But at this price, the Rad Runner gets 5 stars, its exceeded all my expectations.
My wife is only 5'1" and was having trouble reaching the ground on my RadRover, so we got her the RadRunner and she can finally stand while seated! Also, with the cargo mount built into the frame, there is almost no wobble when we put our 3 year old on the back, which makes riding with a kid much easier. We love our Rad Power Bikes and now we go on family adventures almost everyday!
I can rehab my knee by peddling and when it’s tired I can rest it or use it for assistance. I love it so fun.
I bought the Radrunner and was not disappointed with the bike however, the bike is not as modular as one would think. It was designed to accept many types of accessories. Which is really cool but, once the hardware has been torqued down I was not able to remove screws without stripping any of them. When you order new accessories to install on your bike they will come with more hardware because of of my aforementioned statement. You will strip them trying to remove them.. I ordered the passenger seat package and the wide base for my Radrunner but, I have yet to install the wide base due to the lack of having spare screws to take them on and off. If you have an easy out set you can probably make them reusable for awhile. You will still need more hardware eventually.
I did like that all of the tools necessary to assemble bike come with it in this nifty little bag. I was pretty annoyed it was all metric tools. The tools provide are also, used to make some minor adjustments to your brakes which came in handy. I would get some metric tools if you don't have any already in case you lose any of the tools.
Bottom line. Know the configuration of bike you want and keep it that way. You won't be able to successfully remove any hardware without likelihood of damaging them or stripping them. The rest of bike is good and I like it. I am trying to buy another once I can afford it. If your on the fence about buying one just do it.
