I love my 2019 red rover I rode 400 miles in three months never thought I would see that kind of road or a bicycle nothing but fun
Had it less than 24 hours and LOVE it. Took less than an hour to assemble very simple and good instructions on procedure. I won't lie I didn't buy this to get excersize, just the opposite actually, and don't plan on doing any real offroad use so I lower the seat down as low is it goes and I ride it like a motorcycle using the throttle. With a little playing around on the control panel it easily does 27 mph. Radically fun.
Bike did not work out of the box b/c the main cable running inside the frame became detached. This cable is too short and the design needs to be improved. I re-routed the cable outside of the frame, wrapped the connection with tape, zip-tied it to the frame and it has been working great ever since. I have put over 50mi on the bike mostly over off-road terrain without any major problems. With the suspension and fat tires 20mph over slightly rough terrain is no problem. Bike handles well. The gear does not like to go down into 1st but you really do not need 1st gear with the pedal assist anyway. This bike allows me to quickly cover long distances, even faster than a UTV, and sneak into my setup undetected. Oh and fenders are a must if going off-road unless you enjoy dirt in your face. Ride Rad!
Wish it had a little more torque it really struggles uphill. Also more accessories would be nice
Have only ridden a total of 25 miles in several trips but I love this bike! Got them for Christmas - my husband was the one that’s been wanting them for so long and he finally convinced me - so glad he did.
My wife and I have Radrovers we purchased a couple years ago and we have really enjoyed them. I had some small problems and the customer service I received was great. I have recommended them to anyone that asks me.
I can’t remember a purchase that I’ve made that has been more fun than my Rad bike. Every ride, I’m asked about my bike and told how cool it is. I take my Rad Rover everywhere but nothing beats a ride on the beach after sunrise!
My Rover is now three years old and has taken me up and down the southern CA coastline several times on touring adventures. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made.
I got 2 Rad Mini's for my wife and me in the summer of 2018 and we instantly fell in love! My 2 sons were 10 and 12 and they'd go on rides with us After a month or so, they wouldn't go any more because it was to hard to keep up. My wife and I loved biking so much, we bought 2 Rad Rovers for them for Christmas. They were soooo happy! We go on regular family excursions all around Utah and we love our Rads. The bikes are super rugged, easy to use and fast. We spent 2019 Christmas in Mesquite and rode around town and then took them off road. The bikes absolutely rock in the sand and dirt. I was getting the crap beat out of me until I realized I had the forks locked out so the shocks weren't absorbing anything. I unlocked the forks and the bike floated over the bumps and ruts. (I prefer locking out the forks for pavement, just forgot they were locked). We were NOT a biking family before, but now, we love to plan local 1 day excursions and week long ones when we can and explore trails and new places. They are worth every penny. I wish ours had the integrated taillights and I wish my wife's Mini was the step through, but we LOVE our bikes. The headlights are very bright and make coming back on a dark trail no big deal. BUYING TIP: Get the seat post! Your butt will thank you.
The Rad Rover is, quite simply, a huge plus in so many ways. I've kept my car parked dozens of times for a quick run to the grocery store. It easily accommodates a backpack full of groceries and me up 500' of elevation to our house. No arriving winded and sweating buckets. The descents down our hill are like ski slalom on the sturdy fat tires and it's revolutionized my short commute to work. The customer service at Rad is absolutely amazing: personable, quick, helpful, and fast. The Rover is definitely not a mountain bike in the traditional sense, but for super-easy trails and gravel roads, it's just fine. If I wanted to spend several thousand dollars more, there are other bikes I'd consider, but for the money and the experience, you cannot beat a Rad.
