What to Measure
Your “real inseam” -- or inside leg length -- is the distance between your body where it sits on your bike saddle and the ground.
This will typically be an inch or two longer than the length of your trousers, but you’ll want to measure to be sure.
You’ll use this number on the chart to get a feel for how the different models will fit you.
How to Measure
Gather the tools needed:
- Medium-width hardcover book
- Tape measure
- A wall you can stand against
- A trusted friend or relative
Wearing your regular riding shoes and with your back to the wall, stand with your feet spread so there is about 7 inches between them - this is about the distance apart your feet would be when straddling a bike with your feet on the ground (standover height).
Place a hardcover book against the wall with the spine of the book facing upward. Slide the book upwards towards your groin until it is solidly against your body. This may be a bit awkward, but is way more comfortable -- and safer! -- than trying to ride a bike that is too big.
If you have a buddy helping you, get them to measure from the floor to the top of the book spine while you hold the book in place. If you’re going it alone, carefully hold the book in place and measure from the ground to the top of the book spine.
A fuel gauge for your electrons.
Pedal Assist Level
The higher the number, the more the motor will boost you when you pedal.
5V, 1 Amp port to charge your phone or portable electronics on the go.
Calculate how many miles you didn't drive this year and how much money you saved on gas.
Can be set to current speed, max speed, or average speed.
Shows how much power the motor is outputting at any given time.
The Rad Battery Pack
With over a decade of designing and building ebikes under our belts, we know that a high-capacity battery like this isn’t something you cheap out on. We designed and built our batteries using genuine Samsung 35E cells, which are some of the most energy-dense and reliable lithium-ion cells on the market today. These cells have allowed us to build an overall better battery, and at only 7.7 lb, it's one of the lightest and most energy-dense packs on any electric bike.

Compact, Discreet, Maintenance-Free Hub Motor
With 750W and 80 Nm of torque at your disposal, this Bafang geared hub motor is what is going to help power you up steep inclines and get you up to top speed quickly from a dead stop, all while remaining quiet and inconspicuous. These kinds of numbers aren't even found on some of the most expensive mid drive systems out there, so prepare to outperform and outclass everyone you see on the road.

"The words 'comfort' and 'fun' rarely go hand in hand, much like 'inexpensive' and 'quality'. The RadRover manages to check off all those boxes which is no small feat."
Looking for something more accessible?
The RadRover Step-Thru 1 is a great option if you want many of the same features as the RadRover but with a much lower stand over height.
Can’t say enough, exceeds my expectations really love it! For those of us advanced in years, this bike will rejuvenate your youth and allow you to go farther and faster! It is a joy not to have to worry about not being able to go where you want or being hesitant about being too tied. If you need help you got help, at the tip of your fingers!
Fun riding outside with the wind in your face and the sun shining. Slightly Peddling at 20 miles an hour. Getting to your Destiination a few miles away without breaking a sweat but imagining that you’re working out.
What a joy. The RadRover has opened up biking trails that were forgotten. Purists continue to ignore the impact of electric bikes but as everyone knows fun trumps ego and skepticism.

Had the bike for 5 weeks and 725 miles-all in Tucson’s Summer heat (100-110 degrees-I’m not a morning person)-not bad for a 66 year old guy. As others have said, this is a big bike. I’m 5’ 10”, and barely reach the ground at a stop (I have the SR Suntour SP12 NCX Seat Post set at the lowest position).
Bought the bike expecting to use it in the desert around Tucson, but so far 99% of the miles on the bike have been on the paved bike paths or streets. Wore out the back tire before 500 miles (didn’t even have it a month), wish Rad Power Bikes offered a street version of the tires for the RadRover... After replacing the tire, about a week later, ran over a nail. Be sure you know how to fix a flat when you’re out, you won’t be able to roll this bike 5 feet on a flat, the tire falls off the rim. I had to carry it off the street in order to fix the flat. With the amount of miles I’m putting on it, continually adjusting the brakes. Hoping to get 1,000 miles on them..
I usually use Power Assist Level 3, and average 15 to 20 miles per charge. Levels 1 & 2 are good if on flat ground or downhill, I haven’t been able to go up any incline at below Level 3. My recommendation if this will be your first E-Bike (it was for me). If you expect the majority of your riding to be on paved paths, get a street bike. This bike is heavy and hard to pedal at lower power levels, the range isn’t that good at Level 3 or above. I inquired about getting matching keys if I buy a second battery to increase my range. Response I received was they can’t match the keys on the second battery.
Some add on’s I like on my bike is the Water Bottle adapter from MRI-Denver, with Topeak adjustable bottle holders. This allows me to carry 2 “Simple Modern 18 oz Summit water bottles with straw lids” available from Amazon. Also have the Topeak MTX Trunk bag on the back rack, which allows me to also carry a couple 32 oz versions of the above bottles (and tools, first aid, sunscreen, etc).
My son (Age 58) with health problems so far is able to ride up the steep hills around our area. Our driveway is above the treetops which is about two hundred fifty long to edge of house. He also had a farm dog nipping at his angles while peddling. He then put the battery in full power and left him in the dust. At that moment for sure he really appreciated the E-Bike. Will follow up with a six to eight month review.
Received my Radrover today a day late due to FEDEX’s day delay to pick it up in Sumner. Impressed with the level of detail in the shipping packaging. Easy to assemble once packaging removed. Impressed with the quality of parts considering the purchase price including military discount of $200. This is a beastly machine which I plan to use for elk hunting. Quite heavy but electric power makes it easy to get up to cruising speed quickly. Ordered an orange front rack Because they’re out of stock in black. Both black and orange rear rack totally out of stock; hopefully get one before September. So far impressed with the ride stability but need more time to adjust to the weight ( more like a motorcycle). Hope to carry out an elk on this rig in the fall. Impressed with the thought put into the electronics (lights, power level control, odometer, trip odometer, and remaining battery life guage). Looking forward to a new biking experience after 20 STPs, and commuting by conventional bike for 20 hears
I love my rad rover 5 easy to assemble, packed very well and appears to be good quality. So I went for a ride after I assembled it was so fun I was kinda bummed that it was raining out! If your shopping for a bike I would highly recommend radpower bikes!!!
Very happy with the ebike, just wish there was a upgrade for 200mm hydraulic brakes and a 21 speed. But overall very happy with it.
