Step-Thru to Adventure
We built the RadRover to go anywhere and do anything. Now, it’s designed to fit anyone.
Introducing the RadRover Step-Thru, a low-step electric fat bike that combines the rugged look and capabilities of our flagship model with a new frame style that meets the needs of all riders.
With a lower standover height and less distance between you and the handlebars, the RadRover Step-Thru makes it easier than ever to get on and get going -- all without sacrificing the power, strength, and durability that made the RadRover, its inspiration, North America’s best-selling electric fat bike.
Made from a layer of aramid and ceramic particles inside the tire under the tread, the Kenda K-Shield integrated tire liner is a line of defense designed to provide extra protection against punctures from thorns, glass, and other small materials.

What to Measure
Your “real inseam” -- or inside leg length -- is the distance between your body where it sits on your bike saddle and the ground.
This will typically be an inch or two longer than the length of your trousers, but you’ll want to measure to be sure.
You’ll use this number on the chart to get a feel for how the different models will fit you.
How to Measure
Gather the tools needed:
- Medium-width hardcover book
- Tape measure
- A wall you can stand against
- A trusted friend or relative
Wearing your regular riding shoes and with your back to the wall, stand with your feet spread so there is about 7 inches between them - this is about the distance apart your feet would be when straddling a bike with your feet on the ground (standover height).
Place a hardcover book against the wall with the spine of the book facing upward. Slide the book upwards towards your groin until it is solidly against your body. This may be a bit awkward, but is way more comfortable -- and safer! -- than trying to ride a bike that is too big.
If you have a buddy helping you, get them to measure from the floor to the top of the book spine while you hold the book in place. If you’re going it alone, carefully hold the book in place and measure from the ground to the top of the book spine.
A fuel gauge for your electrons.
Pedal Assist Level
The higher the number, the more the motor will boost you when you pedal.
5V, 1 Amp port to charge your phone or portable electronics on the go.
Calculate how many miles you didn't drive this year and how much money you saved on gas.
Can be set to current speed, max speed, or average speed.
Shows how much power the motor is outputting at any given time.
The Rad Battery Pack
With over a decade of designing and building ebikes under our belts, we know that a high-capacity battery like this isn’t something you cheap out on. We designed and built our batteries using genuine Samsung 35E cells, which are some of the most energy-dense and reliable lithium-ion cells on the market today. These cells have allowed us to build an overall better battery, and at only 7.7 lb, it's one of the lightest and most energy-dense packs on any electric bike.

Compact, Discreet, Maintenance-Free Hub Motor
With 750W and 80 Nm of torque at your disposal, this Bafang geared hub motor is what is going to help power you up steep inclines and get you up to top speed quickly from a dead stop, all while remaining quiet and inconspicuous. These kinds of numbers aren't even found on some of the most expensive mid drive systems out there, so prepare to outperform and outclass everyone you see on the road.

"This is one of the only step-thru fat tire electric bikes I’ve seen, and it’s done really well. Rad Power Bikes custom engineers their frames and puts a lot of attention into the details..."
Looking for something more traditional?
The RadRover 5 is a great option if you want many of the same features as the RadRover Step-Thru but with a high step frame.
Ordering was painless. Lots of non company sponsored reviews to examine. Bicycle was back ordered and came on the early side of the delivery window. Bike box arrived in good condition and was straightforward to assemble especially with the online video. Wife and I had previous ebike experience, she is having knee issues and has pain associated with uphills and starting from standstill. I have been pedal biking for years and was looking forward to a less stressful pedaling experience. ( I am competitive and turn most rides into gut checks.) Wife has done several 20-30 mile rides on hilly western NC roads. She is becoming more comfortable in (limited) traffic and will sometimes ride with me (on my pedal bike) before dropping me;-) I have been riding around 50 miles per week on a road bike and 50 miles on the Rad Rover ST. I am having much more fun on the Rad Rover. It allows me to cruise fast while spinning. Takes the steep hills that I avoid on the road bike. Seems like spinning at high rpms on the Rad Rover has helped me improve speed on the road bike. Not sure why or if it is just my perception? Love how the Rad Rover smooths out the road bumps. Even getting used to the saddle. Minor electrical bugs that seem to have disappeared on their own. Perhaps operator error? The company has been responsive to our emails. No significant mechanical problems. Bike cables and shifter need adjusting as recommended but not enough to make the bike unridable and thus the problem. Don’t want to lose access to it for several days. After 500 miles we both really like it. It proved up to the primary task of letting wife and I ride together. It has a side benefit of enabling me to get out of the house on days that are miserably hot and when I have a miserable attitude, it improves it. Great bicycle.
This is my second Rad. I purchased a Rad-city for my wife and she loves it, however, I was unable to keep up. The Rad Rover is awesome. I'm very pleased with both purchases. 2,000 miles on each of them since March 2020, no issues.
I just got my RRST a few days ago, and I have already put about 70 miles on it. The RRST replaced my old 1995 Cannondale M400 CAD2 mountain bike. I am not a novice rider, but I haven’t ridden in a while because I am in my 50s and struggling with rheumatoid arthritis. So far, the RRST has performed great and it has put me back outside enjoying the trails. As others have noted, the trade-off for the power and performance of the RRST is the weight of the bike (I also added baskets and multiple accessories). I do have some difficulty pedaling unless I use the electric assist and/or throttle. However, this is not a deal-breaker for me. As I get stronger and more fit over time, I believe it will not be quite as difficult. The controls are easy to use, and I am learning how to combine the gears, pedal assist, and throttle to get the highest efficiency. I also upgraded the seat, but I expected to do that due to my orthopedic issues. So far, I can honestly say this bike has brought me so much joy and happiness. We just ordered another RRST for my husband so he can keep up with me.
RadRover Step-Thru Electric Fat Bike Version 1
Bike is too heavy, brakes are too weak. Otherwise a good purchase
I have Cystic Fibrosis and my lung function is crap. This bike is so much fun and has given me back my independence and confidence when riding. I no longer struggle and can ride with ease!!
Finally got our RRST eBike and truly love the fun and excitement of riding around the hilly terrain to the beaches of So Cal. You can peddle for as much exercise Or go all electric for a casual stroll. Rad Power certainly are top of the food chain!
I love it. Wish I had more time to ride.
Over all I love the RadRover step-thru.
Just a few missing items. 1) No rear view mirror. (You just shouldn’t be on a bike with this size and power without a rear view) insanity not to provide it.
2) the front headlight is an afterthought. You guys could do so much better.
3) the rear basket purchased separately interferes with the seat. Would rather move it back than flip it side to side. But there are no bolt holes for that.
Key West FL
It had been 6-8 years since I last rode a bike, and now that I live in Rocky Mountains in Colorado, my ebike enables me to return to a sport that I've enjoyed for decades; it's a great investment. Will be using it regularly, including riding to work.
